Another Friday is upon us and that means a brand new episode
of Oilersnation Radio is here to get you set for the weekend. This
week, we talked a lot about the upcoming trade deadline and whether
we think Ken Holland is going to weave the magic required to
upgrade the roster.
To kick off this week's podcast, we started with a look at
newly extended defenceman, Darnell Nurse, as the former 7th overall
pick has taken some heat around here lately for his missteps as he
tries to fill in the for the injured Oscar Klefbom. Can we really
fault the guy for filling in as best as he can even though that
probably means he's fighting above his weight class? Next up, we
broke down Ken Holland's press conference from yesterday to try and
figure out what his approach will be for Monday's trade deadline.
Considering the price that some teams are paying for rentals so
far, does it even make sense to be too aggressive in trying to
upgrade the team? We also touched on former friend, Jesse
Puljujarvi, after Holland said that he hasn't been shopping the
winger nor has anyone really be calling about him, so I asked the
boys whether or not anyone thought there might be a chance that he
comes back. Lastly, we looked at the upcoming schedule and took a
few swings on how the Oilers are going to fare, starting with
tonight's matchup against a Minnesota Wild team that has run the
show so far in the season series.
